Pregnancy Brain and other such details..

Molly,

Today I was upstairs in the office doing some paperwork for your daddy. While waiting for the computer to load, I was absentmindedly staring at the bookshelf, when I noticed my Bradley Student notebook and my "40 weeks +" Pregnancy Organizer. I decided to take a walk down memory lane. Here's what I discovered:

  • Pregnancy Brain is REAL.. don't let anyone tell you any differently. Thankfully I had the sense to document some of what I experienced.
  • While women are burdened with pain in childbirth, God eased that burden with the blessing of "forgetting". For example, I remember quite a bit of my pregnancy and laboring and your birth. However, people describe MANY occurrences, situations and events I do NOT recall, and if you told me something and I didn't write it down.. you could count on it NOT to get done. (Just ask Deb)
  • I DID, in fact, have Braxton Hicks. I've definitely been telling people I didn't for the last year. haha. oops.

I'm sure there will be more details on this to follow.

Best of Intentions

Molly Moo,

I'm so sorry it's been so long since my last post! It has been over a month and a half and you have changed SO much during that time. I started this blog and was very excited and optimistic about maintaining it. Something big happened since I last posted..

Dada and I.. got Iphones.

We finally jumped on the band wagon. I've never felt more connected and DISconnected at once. One of the results of this change in our lives is: I'm on my phone all the time.. and I am NEVER on the computer.

At this point it is not quite impossible, but to say it is inconvenient to post on our blog would definitely be an understatement.

Anyways, excuses aside, let's get to the good stuff: YOU.

You are the most incredible creation I've ever layed eyes on.

You are so smart, and you challenge me every day. My absolute favorite thing is playing and laughing with you.

Recent "discoveries" you've made:
  • You can hold two things in one hand. You love to do that. So much so, you rarely carry things in both hands. You pick it up and put it in the hand that already has an item.. and you proudly walk around with both things.
  • You can reach the next shelf in the fridge. This is something that entertains you for.. extended periods of time. Though you're not allowed to touch most things on that shelf (because they're in glass jars..) you like standing on the bottom on the fridge and looking at the new things there are to see. Also, when you were 4-6 months old, I would peek through the crack of the fridge at you sitting in your Bumbo on the counter. You LOVED that. You would laugh and laugh. It's amazing to me now how now I am on the outside and you peek at me. You're growing so fast. It's incredible.
  • The cat's reactions to various objects you stack on top of him. He's patient. You're lucky. You put seat cushions, Bobby, other babies, throw pillows... anything nearby you stack on him.. and you laugh.. SO HARD! It's adorable.. and you're lucky Jack puts up with it. But you adore him. You love when he comes up to snuggle you, but hates when he lays on your lap. You also like to pull his hair out, but that's where Mommy draws the line. "Nice kitty.. Niiiiiice." I don't know how many times a day I say that. Also, since we've learned this.. you also apply it to dogs, kids, babies, Mommy and Daddy.. and you pet us. It's adorable.
  • The rocking chair.  You could sit there for 30 minutes at a time. You LOVE it. You sit with the cat, or your babies.. and you just feel like a big girl. Often when you ask me to help you up, you also ask for EVERY throw pillow in the living room.. so you are buried to your nose in pillows with the hugest smile. I love it.
That's about all I have for you right now. You are the sunshine in my life and I adore what each new day brings.. even if it's a grouchy one.
